5-16TH MARCH | DAVO PULLS TOGETHER TEAM WASHERS FOR THEIR FIRST TASTE OF INDO!
Locked
After an appalling Aussie summer for waves, and half the boys doing Uni or spending their summer in the snow the boys were washed!
With a hometown brotherhood running deep on this trip extra beers were purchased, fireworks too, and the vibes were high as we set sail to the Ments.
“SWELL MAGNETS” KINDA FORECAST
We’re not going to sugarcoat - the forecast sucked. Strong northerlies and small swell, but that just gave the boys some extra time to warm up along the way.
From the playgrounds down to Thunders, we surfed every day and it just kept getting better and better until…….

THE SESSION OF THE TRIP
HTs on the last day was the cherry on top!
Mango the only boat in the channel and with the odd chip in double-up to give the boys a taste of some Indian ocean juice.
By mid-arvo we were surfed out, cut up and bruised, ready to have a few cocktails on the beach before sailing back to Padang.
FOXY FISHING JUJU
You know the rule - never miss a Foxy mission.
With small swell forecast, and a few keen fishermen, we knew we were going to put some hours in the Foxy chasing fish.
Tommy scoring a 13 kilo GT on a stick bait as “best catch”, followed by a wide variety of good table fish to put on the plate.
FRESH FISH ON
Situ never disappoints, pulling out the classics such as his beef rendang and Thai green curry, but what really stood out was what he could do with fresh fish on such short notice. Beer battered fish burgers, BBQ whole fish and fish fingers. Nothing beats ocean to plate!
Special Thanks
To Deli and the crew as always. To Davo for rounding up Team Washers, despite losing one member to the global events, and mother nature for the premium weather.
Cheers, Uncle Lip.
