Conditions/Forecast
Huey and the Indonesian surf gods finally open the flood gates for season 2025 with back-to-back swells and light, variable winds.
STANDOUT SESSIONS
We started off at an incredible beach break before making our way all the way up to the Banyak Islands in Aceh, and scoring heavily everywhere we went.
The true standout session was at that Indonesian surfing pearl they call Treasure Island, and we absolutely scored the day of days in all her glory. Some of the most magical waves we have ever seen in our lives’.
This was the type of day you dream about as a kid – 12 hours of 4-6ft perfection funneling for hundreds of meters. It did not look real.
Wave of the trip
If Birdy’s session was captured at a particular slab that can’t be shot from boat, he probably would of earned wave of the trip (WOT). Great to see his confidence build throughout the entire journey.
However Quiney put in the water time, damaged a lot of boards, and got it done. Well done mate for WOT this week.
The group / Personalities
The Junior Romper Stompers made the trip one hell of a good time. A few family friends from home and the rest flying up from all over Australia for the reunion. The excitement was through the roof to be all meeting up together again.
In and out of the water there was always something to laugh about at someone else’s expense - drone stealing eagles, multiple broken boards, stitches, antics with other charter boats and plenty of wipeouts. This of course came with some of the best times and waves of our lives’.
“That was by far the best charter / surf trip we have ever done”
Food
Chef Duha (aka Situ) was on absolute fire this trip with several guests wanting to take him back to Australia to be their personal chef. The variety really blew the lads away and the Indonesian BBQ fish & satay prawn buffet was the true showstopper.
Fish on
Not much on the fish scene this trip as we were too busy surfing. Quiney and John speared a few reef fish when the opportunity was there which got us some epic fish’n’chips Mango style.
“Oh, you’re on The Mango? that is truly the benchmarks of charter boats eh”

Special Thanks
Scotty for trusting us to deliver the goods, the Indonesian surf gods for opening the floodgates, and Uncle Sooly for putting on the biggest and best State of Origin party Sumatra has ever seen. I think we are still recovering.
Cheers Uncle Lip.
