Up the Reef!

Jordan pulled together a cruisy group of mates’ - Kane, Callum, Ryan, Max and Oscar - all friends old and new, to pop their Mentawai cherries. Let’s just say they chose the right boat!

Mentawai Madness!

We kicked the trip kicked off with small but flawless conditions at Bintangs— the perfect warm-up for the lads to dial in their surfing before the next pulse.

As we moved south and the swell filled in the boys couldn’t believe their eyes.

Indo or Pacific?

With the early run of small swell and glassy weather, we pushed further south to chase some lesser-known swell magnets and find a bit of solitude. The move paid off — not only with empty waves, but with the chance to explore some newly marked dive holes - 20 to 30 metre visibility with a smorgasbord of reef species that act like they have never seen a human before. Fish ranging from MSP, Trout, Jo-fish, Longnose Emperor, Red Bass, Big Eye Bream and much more.

“That was the best reef spearing spot i have ever seen”

Situ doing what he does best

With the never-ending supply of fish Situ went all out on a variety of different dishes ranging from sashimi, fish tacos, BBQ whole fish and classic beer battered fish burgers which was a highlight after a long morning in the water.

One wave

Jordan pulling into “the tube of his life” at The Hole will go down as WOTT. Insane. With Callum jagging a PB too!

Special Thanks

Thanks to the crew as always for keeping the operation running smoothly, and thanks to Jordan for rounding the troops.
