KRAKATAU & THE TRIP THAT NEARLY WASN’T
A volcano was erupting in the Sunda Straight, and not just any volcano but THE volcano - Krakatau.
Jakarta airspace closed, half of the boys stuck in Bali, and the other half stuck in ground-zero Jakarta. This was not looking good.
In the end, none of it was going to stop Wilbur and the boys from making this happen, for what would become one hell of a trip…. all be it a bit late.
FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE
The original plan was to head south, as far south as possible, but between diverted flights, late arrivals and a delayed departure, the plan got bent all out of shape.
Shit happens right? Those plans changed… and the boys scored anyway. Just reward for the perseverance to make it happen, against all odds.

There was no missing this one. Everyone was ready, and it turned into a morning of the most ridiculous waves the crew had seen all year, and just us in the water.
The following day – exact same plan and exact same result.

NO TIKTOK WAVES
After an absolute tube-bender, the boys were ready for a change of pace as the swell dropped.
Macca’s got mentioned….and quickly shut down. We had other ideas.
ONSHORE IS THE NEW OFFSHORE
Time to launch? Time for Roxies with a south wind.

“I’ll do it if you do it”… clippers out!
After the delays, the doubts, and then the insane tubes of a lifetime to kick the trip off, it was time to celebrate with a few Island Brews and some loose haircuts.

The beauty of a two-week trip is more swell cycles, and when the next swell came, we were straight back to where it all started.
By now, they had their eye in on this beast of a slab, and WOW, what a way to finish.
